2015 Beauty Favourites

2015 Beauty Favourites

I thought I’d do a little wrap up of my most used 2015 beauty favourites.

These are the items that I use every day and pretty much the whole year through and since being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing treatment, I’ve continued to use them to keep myself looking and feeling as put together as possible!

1.  Sally Hansen Salon Gel Nail Polish

I’ve reviewed the Sally Hansen gel nail kit previously and absolutely love it.  Nail polish lasts no more than a day on my nails so gel or shellac is the only option for me for a long wearing manicure.  I just love that it takes me 30 minutes to do my own nails at home and they last a couple of weeks.

2.  See By Chloe Eau de Parfum

I just love this perfume, which was first bought for me by my best friend Claire.  It’s really feminine but not too overpowering with a combination of jasmine, ylang ylang, vanilla and musk.  I love that it’s such a lovely option for day and evening too.

3.  Biosilk Silk Therapy 17 Miracle Leave In Conditioner

My new hairdresser recommended this when I moved back to Australia and I LOVE it.  You can actually use it on the hair or body but she recommended it to me as my hair gets really knotty after washing but also is fine and I didn’t want a heavy product to weigh it down.  I spray it onto my new short hair now after I’ve washed it so I can comb through easily without any tugging on my hair.

4.  Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I wear foundation pretty much every day (shock horror!) and I started using this last year and fell in love.  I’ve finally found a foundation that is the perfect colour for my yellow toned skin and I love that it’s buildable so you can add layers for a better coverage or on areas of discoloration.  I apply it with a foundation brush and really buff it in as it’s quite thick – I wouldn’t recommend applying this with fingers as it would be a far too heavy but with a brush you can make it quite light yet still retain a nice coverage.

5.  Clinique Exfoliating Scrub

I’ve been a huge fan of Clinique for 20 years of more and this scrub is lovely.  Its fine exfoliating beads are gentle but work so well in smoothing out my skin and getting rid of any dry spots.  I wish it could slough off the fine lines too :)

6.  Urban Decay Naked Palette

I adore the original Naked eye shadow palette and love the array of colours and textures in it.  ‘Toasted’ is my favourite.  This is the perfect palette for anyone wanted one set to use for day, night and work.  The shadows have a lovely pigmented and soft application and last ages, especially if you use a primer first.

7.  Tangle Teezer Detangling Hairbrush

And finally, my trusty tangle teaser – the best invention ever for knotty hair!  It’s so gentle but fast in brushing out your hair after washing it and I use it on my 2 year old after her bath too.

I’d love to hear what your ‘staples’ and do let me know if you love any of the above too!

Ooh like this! How do you get the nail varnish off?

I’ve discovered Double Wear this year too – I find it quite dry on my skin so
I use a teeny bit over the top of a loghter dewy foundation for evenings. It’s ace!

I’ve also started using the Nivea in-shower moisturiser – it’s actually good! Xxxx

I use the Sally Hansen remover with foil – takes about 10-15 mins to remove :) Oh yes it is very matte – suits my oily skin but that’s a fab tip! x x x
