Cancer Council NSW Pink Ribbon Campaign – how you can help!
As you all know, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in November 2015.
What you might not know is that I have been a volunteer for Cancer Council NSW for about 7 years. It’s an organisation that I love and admire so much for the work they do in cancer research, raising funds and awareness and education on cancer.
Throughout this journey, there has always been someone at Cancer Council for me to talk to – friends, old colleagues and beautiful strangers.
I’ve appreciated their support when others haven’t known what to say to me.
Or when they haven’t said anything at all.
Cancer Council supports women throughout their entire cancer journey – from diagnosis to treatment, to recovery and life after cancer. The support I have received from them since my diagnosis has been amazing and I’m working with them now to spread the word about this campaign.
Every October, supporters of Cancer Council NSW host Pink Ribbon campaign events.
Raising money and awareness is a way that everyone can get involved to stand in solidarity with women, like me, who have been affected by cancer.
One really easy way you can get involved and help raise funds is to sell Pink Ribbon Day merchandise – perhaps at your workplace, to your friends or local mum’s group.
To order your merchandise for Pink Ribbon Day, call 1300 65 65 85 or visit pinkribbon.com.au/merchandise.
You can also host a Pink Ribbon fundraiser! Click here for more details. Please consider making a donation by visiting the website too.
If you’re registered with Cancer Council NSW as a supporter, you might see my face on some of their Pink Ribbon Campaign emails soon – let me know if you see me!
I’m so grateful for the support that Cancer Council has shown me during a very difficult time in my life and I really encourage you to give what you can to them now to support other women in my position.
