In The Night Garden at Alton Towers!

In The Night Garden at Alton Towers!

On Sunday we had a brilliant time attending the 1st anniversary party of In The Night Garden at Alton Towers – and that meant meeting Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy!

Miss M was soooo excited the week before and despite me being 3 weeks post partum, I knew we couldn’t miss it :)

We had a bit of a stressful journey as we were running late – that’s what you get for attending a party with a 2 year old and a 3 week old :)

When we arrived at Alton Towers we got parked quickly but I hadn’t bargained for the 30 minute monorail queue.  Mental note:  set off MUCH earlier next time!

I was worried that we’d miss the party but we finally made it!

When we entered the Hospitality Suite at Alton Towers we were greeted by the lovely party organisers and a sea of empty prams.  All the little ones were up at the front eagerly awaiting the arrival of Iggle Piggle so off we went to join them.

Miss M’s face was a picture when they appeared – the REAL Iggle Piggle!!  She danced and sang along with him, spinning in circles, jumping and waving her arms in the air – so cute!

She sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Iggle Piggle and clapped when he blew out his candles.  And she polished off a big piece of his birthday cake!

We were then surprised with a brilliant, fun-filled goodie bag, full of In The Night Garden treats!

After the party we headed to CBeebies Land and Miss M had a go on the Numtums ride which she LOVED and of course would then not get off!  We watched the Postman Pat vans drive around and Mini M slept the whole time.  Which was a relief as he did not enjoy the monorail wait :)

Oh another tip about the monorail, our iCandy stroller would have fit inside it perfectly but the back wheels are too wide to get through the door so we had to disassemble it – not a big deal as were two of us but bear it in mind if you’re on your own.  It looks like all other strollers and prams had no problem getting in though :)

We had the BEST time ever and I’m so pleased we went along.  Miss M is still talking about meeting Iggle Piggle and has lots of happy memories so thank you so much to the organisers for allowing us to come along and putting on such a brilliant party!

We’re already planning our next family trip to Alton Towers – I can’t wait to go back when I have a little bit more energy and when I can ALSO go on the rides :)

This sounds brilliant, mine don’t watch in the night garden but if they did I now know what would be on our Summer bucketlist, what a great time you had. Thanks for sharing #sharewithme

I hate being late but it’s kind of inevitable with little people. I’m glad you didn’t miss Iggle Piggle. Tin Box Tot is green with envy! X

We’re off to Alton towers. Just hubby and I though. Having a late honeymoon. I’m terrified and get motion sickness!

Oh what an awesome idea! Motion sickness aside of course :) There are loads of different rides so I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll enjoy. Miss M recommends the Numtum ride ha ha! :)
