Kris Kringle 2015

Kris Kringle 2015

I’m a member of a brilliantly supportive blogging group on Facebook called Bloggers United Australia.  It’s a group of bloggers in Aus in all different genres – Family, Lifestyle, Beauty, Tech, Health – a brilliant mix and from those who have been blogging for fun for a few weeks to professionally for years. This year they’ve organised a Kris Kringle and I was so excited to take part!  For those who don’t know what Kris Kringle is – it’s a bit like a Secret Santa.

We each had to provide a list of the kind of things we love, a bit about who we were, then the lovely admin team at BUA did their magic in sending us each a random blogger to buy for.

Despite the drama of the past few weeks, I was so excited for another excuse to head to the shops and sent my gift to my chosen blogger a week or so ago!

A few days ago after that I received my gift and I was so excited – such pretty packaging!  Then the dilemma came, do I open it now or on Christmas Day?

I decided to wait so imagine my surprise when soon after, ANOTHER gift arrived!  After a bit of a panic thinking that I must have been duplicated, I realised they were from the same blogger and today the suspense was killing me so much that I opened up the gifts!

First I opened the card that came with them and a beautiful hand written letter from Nerida at Space of Beauty.

Tears streamed down my face as Nerida wrote about being a mother of 2 (her own little Peppa and George!) who had read my recent blog posts and how she was thinking of me and what my little family is going through.  One parcel was the Kris Kringle and the other was a care package she had put together for me.

As you can imagine – I was just blown away.  The kindness of strangers amazes me constantly and the thought that Nerida has put into our gifts is just so wonderful.

Inside my care package was a beautiful dressing gown, a lovely set of toiletries and best of all, Haigh’s chocolate frogs!  For those of you not in Australia, Haigh’s Chocolate Frogs are a bit legendary over here – they’re amazing!

It’s all just so perfect – my treatment starts soon and hospital stays might be a possibility for me and it’s just so so lovely to have such pretty gifts just for me.

Inside the next package were so so many gifts for the family!

A super cute Peppa Pig bath set, plates and cups for Miss and Mini M, more chocolate, chocolate soap and candy canes!  Nerida must have somehow known that candy canes are Mr M’s favourite Christmassy treat :)

I honestly feel like a little kid at Christmas and this has just made my day so so so so SO much.

The thoughtfulness and kindness that Nerida has put into choosing and sending my gifts is amazing – what a truly lovely and generous person.  I wrote yesterday about the support I have received since my diagnosis and this is a brilliant example of that :)

I don’t know you Nerida but you’ve totally made my day – thank you so much for your generosity in the gifts and for taking the time to send me such a beautiful letter.  Your words have filled me with joy and I can’t thank you enough.

Please check out Space of Beauty and be sure to give Nerida a Like on Facebook and a Follow on Instagram!

Very kind indeed, and just what you need right now (c’mon, how many frogs are left? You can tell us :))

Sounds like a great blogger’s group too. None of the ones I’m in have done a Kris Kringle, what a lovely idea.

Hope you’ve had a great weekend :) xo

This is so lovely, the blogging community seriously rocks! I love that the Australian one seems to be as close knit as the UK one :)

Ahh how lovely. It often surprises me how kind strangers can be, yet people close to you you struggle to show you how much they care xx
