Not On The High Street Review
As you may have gathered if you’ve been following my post partum updates, I’m over the moon now that I’ve had my second baby and my little family is now complete! I’ve always wanted 2 children and I’ve been blessed with two and feel very lucky indeed. I really wanted to mark the occasion somehow and I was delighted to have the opportunity to do a Not On The High Street Review as I adore their product range.
It took me a LONG time to decide what to choose – the website is just huge and there’s so much choice. Which is both a blessing and a curse for a shopaholic like me.
I knew I wanted a piece of jewellery and something that I would definitely wear, rather than sit on a shelf and get neglected. I narrowed down my search to a necklace and I knew I wanted something in silver as I very rarely wear gold.
I decided on this beautiful ‘Family Place’ necklace by Vanessa Plana and it’s just lovely. It was a way for me to wear a daily ‘record’ of my baby’s initials and birth dates. I had the option of 2 lengths and to add little hearts, stars or flowers. I opted for an M initial for both, their birth dates and a mini silver heart and star. It is made from sterling silver and has a gentle hammered effect.
The necklace arrived in the post so quickly, beautifully packaged. It is delicate yet robust enough that I don’t feel worried to wear it. With a breastfeeding baby and an inquisitive toddler, some jewellery is just not practical but this is great.
It is so so rare that I get anything for myself these days and it was lovely to have something just for me but that celebrated my little family!
Prices for this necklace start at £38 depending on how many initials and stars/hearts/flowers you add to it. Mine has two initials, a star and a heart and I chose the smaller length (41cms) – it worked out at £58 + delivery.
This would be an absolutely beautiful and thoughtful gift for a friend who has had a baby as they could always add to it if they had more children. It’s really good quality and I absolutely love it – my new favourite necklace, for sure!
