Snow Time in the Garden!
Yesterday we had a fantastic day at the Snow Time in the Garden event at Hunter Valley Gardens.
It’s just under an hours drive from our house so we popped the kids into the car with the promise of an exciting surprise – Miss was very excited to see what it was! Last time we went to the Hunter Valley was in November to see the Christmas Lights Spectacular and she love it then.
She has seen snow before, when we lived in the UK, although she can’t remember it too well so we knew she’d love it.
We arrived at about 10.30am and it was perfect timing. We missed the initial 10am queues and got in before the lunchtime rush. It was easy to park up and a lovely sunny day too, albeit a little cold. Perfect for fun in the snow!
After getting inside, we were met with snowmen, reindeer, penguins and polar bears. Miss M probably would have been excited enough just to see them!
After persuading her to leave them for now, we headed along the path to the main event: the snow!
There we headed for the Snow Time Play Zone and she jumped straight in to run around in the snow and throw snowballs at Daddy! If only we had remembered to bring her gloves (bad parents!) but it didn’t seem to bother her.
She even built a little mini Olaf – this was absolutely the highlight of the day for her and she’s still talking about him now, wondering if he might have melted yet!
As well as fun in the snow, we had the choice of Ice Skating, the Ice Toboggan and the HVG Super Slide – 12 metres high argh!
Miss was a bit little young (she’s 3) for these things but next year, it will be a different story!
We managed to drag her away from the snow for some jumping castle action – the Tinkerbell castle one was her favourite although she had a lot of fun on this bouncy train too.
Next up was face painting and we lined up to see kids decorated with flowers or as cats and tigers. Miss insisted on being Queen Elsa (quelle surprise) so had a gorgeous blue tiara painted on. I was surprised she actually sat still for it!
We had so much fun at Snow Time in the Garden and recommend it for families with kids of all ages.
Next year I think she’ll have even MORE fun and Mini will be old enough to play too.
Snow Time in the Garden runs from June 25th to July 17th from 10.00am to 9pm daily.
We had a wonderful day and couldn’t recommend it more!
Disclosure: we were given a family pass to Snow Time in the Garden in exchange for our honest review.
