17 Weeks Pregnant – My Pregnancy Week-by-Week

17 Weeks Pregnant

I’m 17 weeks pregnant!!  I can’t decide if it’s going slowly or quickly.  I feel like it’s dragging mainly but then in 3 week’s time I’ll be halfway there.

I’ve had such a busy week at work that I’ve hardly had time for symptoms but this is what I can remember:

Oh heartburn, just get lost will you!

Pelvic pain – ooh, this has started getting a bit more painful now – it’s thanks to the relaxin hormone loosening my joints and it makes my hips and pelvis hurt.  Luckily it isn’t has bad as the last pregnancy yet though and hopefully if I keep walking it won’t get too bad.

Hair Growth – hmm – I’ve definitely noticed my hair growing a bit faster than usual which would be brilliant except in reality it means the grey hair is showing faster!  Thank God for hair mascara.

Sleeeeeeep – this is getting more difficult now and more uncomfortable – I wish I could lie on my tummy or back – lying on my sides is fine except the pelvic pain makes turning over in bed a bit of a hassle.  Last pregnancy I remember having 5 pillows scattered around me every night in an attempt to get more comfortable! I can’t decide whether to bite me the bullet and try a pregnancy pillow but I don’t know if I want to risk it given they’re not cheap.  What if it isn’t comfortable?  Can anyone recommend one?

Quickening – hurray, I’m getting definite flutters now!  They’re still very few and far between and totally unpredictable but it’s been nice to feel ‘something’ :)

One thing I’ve been having fun with this one we haven’t is ‘gender prediction quizzes’!  I know they’re based on old wives’ tales and they’re not scientifically proven but they’re fun nonetheless!

I think that’s all for this week so me and my onion-sized baby will say bye for now :)
