27 Weeks Pregnant – My Pregnancy Week-by-Week

27 Weeks Pregnant

27 weeks pregnant – 13 left – oh wow it’s flying by now!  The last few weeks seem to have gone much quicker anyway.  It’s crazy to think that in 12 week’s time I’ll be finishing work.

I was going to work right up until the end but due to the discomfort of SJD, I’ve decided to finish a week earlier.  It would have been nice to finish before then but I’d rather keep the paid mat leave until after Mini arrives. :)

I’m getting a bit nervous now and it’s really dawning on me that an actual baby will be here soon.  I know that’s silly but it’s just becoming much more real every week closer to my due date.

I wish more than anything that I knew when Mini was going to arrive – I’m such a planner and I find it very difficult to not know.  But that’s pregnancy!  Miss M was 3 weeks and a day early so I suppose there’s a chance that Mini might do the same.  However when I had my 12 week scan this time round they did move my date a week earlier so perhaps it’s more accurate this time.

Knowing my luck, I’ll be 2 weeks’ late!

We’re having a lot of fun making the most of our ‘family of 3’ time and took Miss M for our first time at soft play last weekend – she had so so much fun and we’ll definitely go again.

I’m still leaning towards trying for a waterbirth at home and I’ve started looking into hiring a birthing pool – if you have any suggestions on a pool to hire or where from, please do comment below.

I have my 28 week app on Feb 3rd and I will chat to the midwive then about what support I would get for a homebirth and will make my decision then.

The SJD (sacroiliac joint dysfunction) pain isn’t great this week but is much better than last week, thankfully.  I’ve been doing the exercises the physio gave me although I know they will take around 6 weeks to have much benefit but I’m sure the stretching is helping already.

I feel so huge!  I’m carrying sooo high up again like last pregnancy.  I did pick up some new maternity clothes because my usual clothes are now proving a bit too small so I’ll take some pics in the next week or so and show you what I’ve got.

Hope all my bump buddies are feeling well and everyone is having a lovely week with you bumps and babies. :)

I had SPD and it was so uncomfortable and painful for me, particularly at the end. I remember struggling to walk! Hope you feel better-have you tried that belt thing? Thanks for linking up to #brilliantblogposts

Oh hunny I feel the pain all coming back to me I never heard of SPD before until I had it with my first Buba. And it was horrible! I used to drop to the floor int he middle of the grocery store embarrassing and painful. I used to think it was me going into labor until they don’t me what it was. I feel for you. I luckily never got it with my second baby so thats good that it doesn’t carry on with each pregnancy. I was told I walked and lifted too much and that’s what caused it. Rest hunny as much as you can. I know easiler said than done. Thank you ever so much for linking up to Share With Me. #sharewithme

Oh bless you! The pain sounds awful :( I was lucky not to really suffer in my pregnancies (aside from horrendous HG!) but you do have my sympathy!

Hope that you manage to get your waterbirth at home! I know you were thinking about hiring but I know a few who have bought a pool for the same price – not sure what you would do with it after though

Oh that’s a really good point – I’ll look into it! Maybe I could sell it after :)

It’s so wrong even when I know you have SPD (which I also had – feeling your pain) I’m STILL broody after reading this. Oh the excitement of pregnancy, I know it doesn’t feel like it sometimes though hey!? You are doing so so well. Well done for taking MAT leave early. I had the girls 36w+4 it felt like forever. Sending lots of hugs. Can’t wait to see little one. I’ll be following that’s for sure. Xxx

Good luck with getting a water birth, I can imagine it being very serene! do a dry (or wet haha) run first though as a friend of mines husband couldnt get the plug to work so never got it filled in time for the baby arriving! #MummyMondays

How exciting but sorry to hear you are in discomfort and having to finish work early. I, like you intended on working until a week before my due date but ended up finishing 2 weeks before because I just couldn’t commute anymore! Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. #mummymonday

Wow 3rd trimester here you come! Hopefully the SJD improves with the exercises. I remember seeing some information about hiring birthing pools over on Mrs Meldrum’b blog or vlog.

I know what you mean about things starting to feel more real now – it’s so easy to get distracted by just being pregnant and the rest of ‘life’ and forget there’s going to be another baby soon. I’ve set my last day at work at the beginning of April to give myself a few weeks of peace. However, I have a feeling I’m going to be early this time round. I’ve no idea why as Tin Box Tot was pretty much on time :) I how the SJD continues to improve for you x

That’s so true – it just hits you that there WILL be a baby soon! I wish we knew exactly when they were coming :)

I’m loving all your vegetable photos for the pregnancy updates… are these what the pregnancy apps tell you the baby is the size of now? With S I had loads of random veggies, then one week it said “baby is the size of a beer can.” Priceless!
Thanks for linking up with #WeekendBlogHop!

Ha thanks Vicky – yes I have an array of pregnancy apps although none ever seem to have the same fruit/veg each weird weirdly! Ooh a beer can – that’s so funny – that beats this week’s turnip! :)
