40 Weeks Pregnant – My Pregnancy Week-By-Week

40 Weeks Pregnant

Well I did NOT think I’d get this far but tomorrow I will be 40 weeks pregnant!

I have now moved on from over-analysing every potential early labour symptom to a realisation that I might well be pregnant forever.  Forever.

Perhaps I’ll just slowly get more and more pregnant to the point I won’t be able to move and I’ll need a crane to turn me over in bed.  I mean, that might happen!

Ok, let’s try and remain a little more positive.  The good news is that the baby is moving around a lot and is clearly growing nicely in there and I’ve made it to full term.

Symptoms-wise, there is nothing new to report really – the pelvic pain is the same but I’m resting when I can.  I’ve had a couple of walks this week but the pain does prevent much walking which is annoying.

I’ve tried out some of the old wives tales to encourage the baby to makes it’s appearance – hot curries and other spicy food, walking, bouncing on the birth ball, speed bumps and clary sage oil but to no avail.

Any more suggestions?

I suppose I’ll have to give in to the annoyingly accurate fact that the baby will come when it’s ready :)

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the news of Kate Middleton’s baby’s arrival too – so exciting!

A HUGE congrats to my bump buddy Laura at Life with Baby Kicks who had her beautiful baby boy this week!  Hope you and your little family are doing well :)

Right, only a short update as nothing much has changed so off I pop now for another bounce on the ball.

Hope you’re all having a lovely week and perhaps I’ll be back next week with a 41 week update!

Hurray! You made it to 40 weeks!! I’ve been loving these weekly updates and wondered if you’d get to the ‘hallowed’ 40 week stage! I only managed 36 with The Twinkles — any more and I would have spontaneously combusted! ;) Looking forward to seeing if you get to 41 ;) Thanks so much for linking up to #TwinklyTuesday

I feel four you. All my babies have been born at 42 weeks and the first and last had to be induced. I tried literally everything and in the end had to accept that’s just how my body did it. Good luck, keep busy xxx #TwinklyTuesday
