5 Things I’m Loving Lately

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted about the good stuff – the things I’m grateful for and loving. So here goes:

What I Love in my Life Right Now

1. Spring!

Spring in Australia is probably my favourite time of year. The weather picks up overnight (although Jeez what’s with all the rain lately?).

But more than that, there just seems to be this sense of ‘starting again’ – resetting.

It might be something to do with the panic of Christmas coming soon. Or the end of the year – are you track to hit your New Year’s resolutions? I kinda am and kinda not.

But I love Spring – and I’ve just checked the weather and the sun is putting his hat back on!

2. Family

We’ve had my brother and aunt to stay from the UK and have had such a lovely time reconnecting and making new memories.

I just wish the UK and Australia were closer to each other – or that it was at least not as expensive to fly. Or both – yes, I’d like both.

3. Bloggers

When I moved back to Aus three years ago, my blog was already a couple of years old but it felt a bit like starting again. I’d made some lovely blogging friends in the UK – who still are! – but the Aus blogging community was brand new.

Kylie from Kidgredients took me under her wing and introduced me to a bunch of amazing blogging women who have equally welcomed me into the community.

Three years on, I’ve made some of the most wonderful blogging friends who I chat to daily (minute-ly) who support and encourage me.

I love that our voices are all unique, all true to who we are as individuals but that we share common experiences that bind us. What a fantastic community this is!

4. Jamie Fraser

And if you’re asking who that is, he’s my boyfriend, you have so much loveliness to discover!

Season 4 of Outlander is a-coming and oh my word I couldn’t be more excited! Sometime in November apparently.

That show has everything I love about a TV series and I’m so hooked that I’ve been rewatching the first three seasons – for the third or fourth time. Check it out on Netflix.

5. Planning my 40th birthday!

Ah, there was a time I thought I might not see this milestone – but the fact I will makes it even more special.

I’m planning a little weekend away with some of my besties and cannot wait.

Yes, I’ll be a bit sad to not be 30something any more – and I suppose I won’t know how I’ll feel until I turn 4-0. But for now – all the yays.

What about you? Tell me what you’ve been loving lately x

Bahaha to the Jamie Fraser point – I watched Season 1, and I loved it but I got SO incredibly emotionally invested – like, I HAD to give myself a couple of days in order to process each episode before I could move on to the next one, and after the hard slog that was the end of Season 1 I took a break and haven’t gotten back to it. I’ve contemplated sitting down and trying to make sense of why I connected so strongly to this particular show, and these characters…but I think I’m kinda not sure if I want to know!
And yes to the wish that the UK was closer and cheaper to get to. I’m keen to take our little one to meet our English family and friends, but the thought of the journey, especially when I get horrendous travel sickness, is just a bit too much. Maybe in a few years…

I know what you mean about the emotional investment – it’s so intense and I can’t stop thinking about it! You feel you’re in the show – maybe it’s because of a desperate longing to be ha ha! But really it’s so well done and written that you can’t help it. x
