Since we moved back to Australia in 2016. we’ve been checking out the best places to scoot in NSW and we have a new favourite – Warners Bay!
Best Places to Scoot in NSW: Warners Bay
Warners Bay, with it’s beautiful foreshore, is on the northeast side of Lake Macquarie and just a 10 minute car journey from home. It’s also only a 2 hours drive from Sydney.
The esplanade has some gorgeous cafes and restaurants, one of our favourites being Brown Dog.
The foreshore is an 8.9km path and a lovely place to walk, jog, cycle, rollerblade and scoot!
We often head there at the weekend at this last one was extra special as Mini just got his first Micro Scooter, just like his big sister’s one.
Miss got her first scooter last Christmas and loves it and Mini has been eyeing hers up for months so we were so excited when Micro Scooters sent him one of his very own!
Mini, being mini, got the Mini Micro Deluxe and he chose it in Aqua. There are 8 colours to choose from.
It will grow so nicely with him with it’s adjustable height handlebars for when he gets taller. It also lasts to age 5 so we’ll have many scooting adventures to come!
So off we headed in my little car to Warners Bay and I had no trouble packing the 2 scooters and helmets into my small boot.
We parked up on the foreshore and headed off along the path. There was no stopping Miss as she scooted off, eagerly showing her little brother how good she was.
Mini hurtled towards his new scooter like a bat out of hell shouting “BIKE!” at it – not quite little one! Up he climbed and, with some guidance from Daddy, off he scooted!
He had no fear whatsoever and although he’s a little small to be scooting himself along just yet, I think it’s only weeks away. We have some knee and elbow pads for extra safety on his wish list for Santa.
Here’s a little video I took of the kids (+ Daddy) having some scooting fun on Warners Bay foreshore!
Warners Bay is an amazing place to take the kids scooting. The views are just gorgeous, it’s a safe path and really peaceful. The kids loved scooting along, waving at the joggers and patting the dogs who were out for a walk.
I can’t wait to investigate the area and keep checking out the best places to scoot in NSW and our local area!
Do you have any suggestions on where we should scoot next?
