I love summer and I love the look of having a sun tan. I just feel better somehow. These days I don’t have the inclination or time to sunbathe though. I fake it instead! So I thought I’d share my best self tanners that work from the drugstore.

I’ve tried so many over the years, hits and misses. Here are some of my current top self tanners in no particular order.
7 Best Self Tanners 2017:
1. St Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse
Ok, when I said “no particular order”, I still had to put this one first. The St Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse is my all time best self tan, applies so smoothly and leaves an even, streak free tan.
Out of all the self tanners I’ve used, the smell of this one is the best too.

2. Le Tan Instant Foaming Mousse
I’ve found the Le Tan Instant Foaming Mousse a really good drugstore self tanner, cheap dupe for the St Tropez mousse. For a sixth of the price, it’s a budget friendly alternative.
Whilst it isn’t as long lasting as the St Tropez, I find it applies easily and if you work quickly it doesn’t streak.
You can buy it here for $9.44.
3. ModelCo Tan Airbrush in a Can
If you’re not a fan of mousses, the ModelCo Tan Airbrush in a Can might be a good option. It’s quick drying and a little messy so apply carefully.
However this mid price range self tan in a can applies easily in seconds and it leaves a lovely golden glow. The self tan develops over a few hours so your tan will increase.
You can buy it here.
4. Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse
Another budget friendly best drugstore self tanner is the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse. It’s a lightweight mousse in 3 different shades so you can choose one that best matches your skin tone.
It does claim to last up to 7 days but is less so for me although I get a good few days of glow out of it and it fades evenly.
You can buy it here.
5. J.Bronze Gradual Tanning Cream
I only discovered this new range recently but love it. I use the J Bronze Gradual Self Tanning Cream on days when I want extra moisture and when I have more time to apply it.
At $18.95, it’s your own a budget friendly version of Jennifer Hawkins’ lovely tan!
6. Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mist
The Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mist has a lovely coconut smell and sprays a fine mist quickly.
I apply it over night when I want a darker tan, or just before an event. The colour is even although it can gather on areas of dry skin. I’d advice exfoliating and moisturising before you apply any self tanner.
7. River Veda Sun Star Body Bronzer
If you’re looking for a bronzing product that is instant and washes right off in the shower, this one is perfect.
This organic bronzer leaves a lovely shimmer on the skin which looks more like a natural glow than a fake tan.
You can buy it for.
So here are my current best cheap self tanners.
