Carpet Call Manhattan Rug Review

In this Carpet Call Manhattan Rug Review I share some sneaky pics of our new house too! We’ve been in the new house for a few months now – actually can I still call it a new house?

Bit by bit we’re adding decorative touches and making it our own. There is so much more still to do!

One room I’m excited to make changes to is my home office. I’ve finally got my own haven to work in and a set up that’s working for me. I’m not going to do a full ‘tour’ as yet because I’m waiting for more furniture to be delivered and I’m going to be painting the walls too.

Review of Carpet Call Manhattan Rug

One thing I’m really excited to share though is this gorgeous new rug!

Home Office
How pretty is the Carpet Call Manhattan Rug!

As the room is currently a white ‘box’ with tiled floors, it had started looking a bit clinical. This soft and luxurious rug was exactly what it needed to add warmth and colour.

On cold days, it’s been lovely and soft underfoot and because it’s so bright, it just adds so much to the room.
This rug is 160 x 230 cms which is the perfect size for this room and most lounge rooms.

It features my favourite colour, teal, and mixes it with cream and grey.

Carpet Call Manhattan Rug

The Carpet Call Manhattan Rug is 100% heat set polypropylene and machine made. It’s also non-shedding, highly stain resistant, durable, tight weave, soft underfoot, colourfast, antistatic and easy to clean. My chair casters glide so easily over it.

It’s from their Modern range of rugs – which is so vast and many come in numerous colour combinations.

We have the Carpet Call Ebony Rug in our lounge – even with two small (and messy children), it has no stains.

You can purchase the Carpet Call Manhattan Rug by clicking here and find out more about Carpet Call’s beautiful range.

This rug would suit my bedroom, the colours fit, it’d go with my furniture, it would go with my bed!

To be totally honest, the perfect place for this gorgeous Carpet Call Manhattan rug in my home is: wrapped up carefully and saved inside a cupboard until our kids are old enough to stop behaving like rabid forest creatures raised by wolves. The sad reality though, is this may be a LONG time away, since my kids aren’t even close to teenagers as yet, which (I have been reliably informed), will be the nadir for household cleanliness.

However, I do really, really want this rug – I want to be able to appreciate its beauty and feel its softness under my feet now, without the prolonged wait… which leaves me no alternative but to demand that my husband immediately build me an extension to our home where pesky, messy children/monkeys will be forbidden and where I can feature the rug and keep other nice things for the exclusive enjoyment of us mature grown up types (who will no doubt almost immediately spill their wine on my pristine new floor adornment – which fortunately for the offenders, is highly stain resistant and easy to clean)…

I’d love this rug in my sunroom :) I have a coastal theme going on and it’s gorgeous blue colours would match the room nicely as well as happily taking foot traffic without too much fuss thanks to it durable material!

A new rug would be nice in our lounge room, our new house is mostly thin timber flooring straight on the concrete slab…made it difficult when our son was learning to walk, and not very comfortable when playing

  9. Anna
    / 8:55 pm

Walls and floors of grueling aged concrete,
The dreariness we just can’t defeat!
Incapable to hammer a wall hook through,
Our baby’s bedroom – yearning shades of lively blue!

My guest room has a beachy feel,
So the blues in this would appeal.
    Giving the relaxation vibe,
    So my guests can revive.

We’re just about to move house from a tiny 2 bedroom carpeted apartment to a 3 bedroom townhouse with wooden floorboards. Yay to moving to a bigger place! Boo to not being able to afford blinds and a rug and for my toddler and baby to lie on in the open plan house yet.

It’s beautiful and would match my furniture perfectly (grey couch and teal cushions) and looks very plush and comfortable. Fingers crossed! I would love the opportunity to enter this comp so thank you and good luck to all the entrants :)

Soon our carpets will be turning thirty,
As you can imagine, they are pretty dirty!
From many kid spills and clawing by the cat,
I would LOVE a beautiful rug to cover that!

  20. Lynnette Bull
    / 1:04 pm

I’d definitely put it in our tiled lounge. Two years ago I asked my partner for a rug and as he is a tradie he thought he’d save money and bring home some carpet offcuts from a job site. So instead of a rug I have an offcut with fraying edges that I constantly cut off so the offcut is getting smaller each week.

We have just moved to Tasmania from Coffs Harbour and into an old chirch that has been converted. We will be needing something warm underfoot to get us through.

  24. Theresa Wilson
    / 9:39 am

I would put this on my daughter’s bedroom floor. She is severely intellectually and physically disabled and spends much of her time sitting or laying her on floor. The colours are sublime and this looks so beautiful and soft, way beyond anything we could afford. Would love her to feel more comfortable and special, plus it’ll match the colour scheme in there perfectly. Thank you for your generous giveaway.

  25. Penny Laycock
    / 12:59 am

My daughters bedroom NEEDS this! We are getting new carpets FINALLY after so many years of feral ones, and this would look divine on them in her room. Plus all her things are hand me downs from her brother so she definitely needs something lovely.

  26. Debra Marr
    / 11:11 pm

In my little beachside cottage the living room needs a warming rug in the colours befitting its position.
The Manhattan Rug really is perfect.

  27. Becky Downey
    / 10:53 pm

I have a fireplace we all adore and we all end up sitting near whether it’s roaring or not, but sitting on tiles is not so comfy!

  28. Alison Hillier
    / 10:20 pm

I would love this for my daughter’s room. She’s nearly ten and growing fast so it’s out with the pinks and girlie themes and in with the posters and patterns!

  29. Tamara Lamb

Would love a new rug for our lounge! Somewhere comfy for the kids to sit and enjoy family time!

  30. stacey williams
    / 4:08 pm

In my lounge room, it will definitely brighten it up and I’m pretty certain it will be come my favourite spot to sit.

  31. Ben C
    / 3:59 pm

This would take pride of place in my sitting room, so i could enjoy it without the white noise of the rest of the house.

  32. Cecilia Warrick
    / 3:14 pm

Our lounge room has seen better years,
but after countless kids parties the holes appeared,
then heavy traffic as they became big teens, made my carpet worn,
with this beauty my lounge room would be reborn!

The pretty colour and pattern would inspire a sense of calm,
we could all sit back, relax and admire its charm!
Over the next ten years, who knows we may hear the pitter-patter of grandchildren’s feet,
the Carpet Call Manhattan Rug the perfect spot for them, to just sit and look sweet! :)

  33. Patricia Harkin

The children were wild toddlers, the dog was a pup. Heck!
We didn’t splurge on a rug that would get wrecked.
But things are now saner, time for quality and style to resume…
A Carpet Call Manhattan Rug would be PERFECT in our FAMILY ROOM!!!

  35. Mary Iliadis
    / 12:54 pm

A stunning edition to any room, beautiful colours, beautiful comfort, beautiful style.

  36. Kara-lee Dewhirst
    / 9:10 am

This rug matches my daughters aesthetic perfectly. She could grow from a 15 year old into an adult and this would still tick all the boxes.

  37. Joanna Harrison
    / 7:23 am

I would love to cover up my rental homes old carpet in my bedroom with this pretty rug. Having a bedroom oasis is my dream and this rug would definitely hide the worn and in parts threadbare carpet, transforming the space with beautiful luxury for sweet dreams every night!

  38. Cate
    / 12:39 am

When our boys were babies we used a doona on the ground for them to play on. It was perfect as it could be washed regularly and was nice and soft for babies who couldn’t move yet. As the boys have begun to grow now (no more babies in the house-boo hoo), it’s time we swapped to a nice rug. The Manhattan rug would suit our colour scheme but would be so much nicer than our present ‘rug’!

  39. Jess Bushby
    / 11:59 pm

I need this in my living room so that every time my son drops a piece of Lego on the floor I don’t feel like I’m in a war zone!

  40. Craig White
    / 11:04 pm

We have an open house with our friends, and because of that I get a huge amount of foot traffic through my loungeroom. My carpet has only been in for a couple years, but I can already see it starting to wear in places. A stylish carpet would be perfect.

  41. Shannon fiorenza
    / 9:06 pm

In the living room, our baby boy and our dog have both decided to take turns marking their territory on our current rug. Not good.

I have twin boys. I need this rug to hide our shames and dampen the noise while still convincing me I have pretty things!

  44. Lucy Leland
    / 4:52 pm

We’ve just moved into a new home without carpets. This gorgeous rug would look perfect on our loungeroom floor and my husband would be able to resume his Saturday ritual of reading the newspaper on the floor.

  45. Lisa
    / 2:07 pm

This beautiful rug would look great anywhere,
But in my living room I could use some Manhatten flair!
Neutral tones with pops of teal,
Adding colour and comfort, it is ideal!

  46. Julia Mason
    / 1:10 pm

Oh I agree it makes your office look very soft and inviting, and thats exactly where ill be putting the rug, in my office, oh it will be perfect for there, I could lay on the floor with a huge cushion and read, text, play games, and dream…

  47. Sharon Fawcett
    / 12:26 pm

In the centre of the lounge room floor to be admired by all that enter the house, laid on by the kids and no doubt the cat and dog will play their flamboyant games on it too!

  48. Kristina S
    / 8:33 am

Our living room, the hub of our home. We read books, throw pillows on the floor and watch movies and even play board games. My favourite room. Truly is our family room. Love the rug, colour and style are gorgeous.

This rug ties in with it the quilt cover I bought but haven’t used yet for my bedroom , it would look perfect and I didn’t even know it existed!

  50. Kirsten

We moved into our first home earlier this year but our decorating style has been a bit bare
A rug like this under our feet would make our lounge room a little more complete

  51. Tanene
    / 6:51 pm

In our family room. We have an old rug that I HATE its so ugly but we’ve just had other things to get that are further up the list. This would be a huge help to getting our poor family room to the way we would love it.

  52. Kayla Hogben
    / 12:55 pm

I would love this for my lounge room! We have dated 80s inspired slate covering a huge area, and while I’ve never been able to hide it from guests… having this rug would actually make me want to show them around. The colours are divine and it looks so soft and luxurious. Pure class Carpet Call!

  53. Elizabeth
    / 10:05 am

In my reading nook this rug would look perfect, it would soften the look and feel of heavy timber bookcases and be soft under feet for toes to grip when books get heavy

  54. Deanna Campbell
    / 8:54 am

Our living room, we recently bought a 45 year old house with its original carpets (aqua and purple!) we took these out as they weren’t ideal for a toddler and newborn to be crawling on and the whole house is currently concrete flooring! So we are desperate for more rugs and carpet offcuts until we can renovate and get the floors in! (Delayed slightly by the arrival of baby girl two weeks ago!) thanks for considering de :) @campingwithbub

  55. Susanna Martin

  56. Justine

  57. Casey Thomsett
    / 8:00 pm

Teal is my feature colour! The things I would do to be able to call this mat mine! I’m seriously smitten in love, this would tie my lounge room together so so perfect. I don’t have much else to say except this would seriously be the best Christmas gift to myself ever, treat this worn down mumma. ??

  58. Nicole Rodriquez

I’d love a new rug for my lounge room, especially in winter with our hardwood floors letting in ththe cold air

  59. Dianne

  63. Annelies

Our lounge-room has lovely Hampton styles lounges and I am trying to continue that colour scheme through the rest of the lounge. I think this rug would be a fantastic addition to that colour scheme.

  64. Lisa Abejja

MY daughters bedroom has timber floorboards. They squeak when walked on. Not only will this rug brighten up her room it will also.stop the squeak when I’m checking if shes asleep.

(To the tune of Waltzing Matilda)
    Once a jolly grey shaggy
    laid on my loungeroom floor
under the shade of a cream corner lounge.
And it sat and it caught all the crumbs from the kids munching
but now it’s done its job and it’s time for a change.

    Manhattan rug,
    Manhattan rug
please come and brighten up the loungeroom for me
the shaggy’s gone and caught all the crumbs from the kids munching,
but now it’s done its job and it’s time for a change.

  67. Amy Petersen
    / 5:55 am

This rug would look perfect in my study hall area, to jazz it up and make it look a little more fun. Give me a few hours and you’ll probably find me curled up on it having a nap!

  68. Linda S

To display this Carpet Call Manhattan Rug in our lounge; a pleasure it will be
Intrinsic kaleidoscope’s of wondrous creativity, vision and imaginative spirit for all to see
Softness & gentle to touch; harmonious to the mind
Beautifully eclectic character beloved and entwined
Patterning unveiling an oasis paradise feel
I could go on and on but this would have me head over heels.

  74. Sara Holley
    / 2:49 pm

Our lounge! We recently got new flooring after years of original rental house carpet. We had an old rug in the lounge to cover all of the stains on the carpet (Well some of them, the rug wasn’t that big that it covered the whole house!). Now with the new flooring, the old rug looks terrible and makes the place look very dated. But without it, it’s quite uncomfortable for us and the kids to sit and play. This would compliment our floor and take our place a tad out of the 70’s :)

  75. Phillip Cunningham
    / 12:25 pm

On my loungeroom floor in between the three seater couch and the two single chairs as there’s a rug shaped blank space right there waiting for a rug to be put in it.

  76. Brooke Cussans
    / 9:14 pm

I’ve been looking for a rug for our living area, and this would be perfect! It’s an open plan/space with floorboards and no soft furnishings to absorb the noise, so even just boiling the kettle means you can’t hear the TV. So a rug would be appreciated by every member of the family :)

  77. Robyn Vitacca

My daughters bedroom. She would absolutely love this.

  78. Sheree Pallis

Hi Mim. I’m redecorating our office at the moment to turn it into a more peaceful and productive work space. I love the grey and blue shades (for calm) on the rug, plus the pattern would give some nice femininity to the space.

  82. Kim Morgan
    / 3:23 pm

This stylishly beautiful rug, would be perfect in our study, as we have ripped up, the cream carpet to reveal ugly paint splashed concrete, it would certainly make the room, more welcoming.

I would love, love, love it for my daughters house.
A rug on their lounge room floor

  85. Rachel K

My study! It’s a place of solitude containing dusty shelves filled with memories, walls of good intentions and a structure held up by love and contentment!

  86. Amelia.B.
    / 12:43 am

In the front lounge room as it’s the first thing guests will see when entering the house so it’s the perfect area to show it off not to mention my bub will be able to crawl on the floor as at the moment it’s tiles and quiet cold on the floor.

  87. Dhanya Samuel

  96. Megan Marot

This rug would be perfect for my lounge,
    The most striking rug around!
    Teal is my favourite colour,
What a great rug to discover.

Our current cream rug is full of old dirt spots,
And having just bought a teal plant pot,
My dream would be to transform my lounge
Into a room that has teal tones profound.

Not to mention it’s so soft on my feet,
Saving them from the cold concrete.
Just love this stylish MANHATTAN Rug.
CARPET CALL can I give you a hug?!

In my bedroom to give it some style,
Haven’t updated in quite a while,
I would love this special gift,
Its beauty would give it a lift!

  105. Angela M
    / 5:38 pm

It would go in the spare room, not because I am hiding it because that is my retreat, my space when it’s my turn for rest from the kids. Hell, I might even sleep on the floor, it is beautiful.

The perfect place would be in my lounge room where it is tiled. It can be very cold and harsh during winter and this would make it perfect :)

In the lounge room to warm our feet,
    And colorfully visitors greet,
    Surrounded by beige and grey,
Its a delightful pop in every way!

I’ve been struggling with how to define two different spaces in a combined lounge dining. Everything seems to just be ‘floating around the room’ to the eye. I saw this post and BINGO realised a rug was the answer to anchoring the lounge area to give it definition! Five years of over-thinking this problem and the answer was right under my nose… or should that be toes? XO

It would be perfect in our chill room – all I’d need is a pillow to chill out on the floor.

  117. Kaman Yu

This would be perfect for the nursery. I’m replacing the carpet in the home with floor boards as the carpets are beyond saving but would still love a soft carpet for my baby to play on.

Hmm, the living room or master bedroom which one should I place this masterpiece from Carpet Call look best in? I suppose I could tell you if I was lucky to win!

This would be great in my Mums bedroom. She really would like to replace her old grotty carpet but does not have the $$$ so she would be overjoyed to have such a beautiful rug to cover her floor!

    Miss Eleven complains that her bedroom floor is bare;
When friends visit, they can put their backsides nowhere
(Well, except for her bed but that has cushions to excess)
And everywhere else is quite simply one girlie mess!
So, the Carpet Call Manhattan rug would be a stylish solution
And a most generous Santa’s Christmas gift contribution!

  122. Karina Lee
    / 11:10 pm

In the lounge because we don’t have enough couches to sit on and the rug would be so much more comfortable than sitting on the wooden floor!

  123. Harry Cornish

I would like to put it in our family room where we mostly sit so we could gaze at the gorgeous soft colors and feel the softness underfoot.

My lounge room. Years worth of children’s food and drink spills have (despite my best efforts to clean them up) have left our lounge in a less than glowing state. I would love to revive my lounge room floor and this rug would be PERFECT!

Our room is drab and oversized
So we’d love Manhattan rug from Carpet Call.

With latte coloured like tiles and marble bench tops
A little colour would add new diamension
to our lounge and dining room
    which is about 5m x 12 m long.

Sometimes not getting home till after 11
our tiles chill me to the bone.

So a Manhattan rug would not only look great
but make our place feel more like our home.

I would love a beautiful rug to put under our dining room table to really bring some colour and warmth to the room as it is a tiled area and can be quite loud and echoey! Plus it would be nice to walk on with bare feet instead of harsh cold tiles! The perfect place!

The Manhattan rug would look great,
I may end up having to rotate,
    To find the perfect place,
In the entry or lounge room space?

    Thanks Mim and Carpet Call,

  146. Tracy Mackay

This beautiful Manhattan rug would be perfect in our family room which is right next to the kitchen and also the centre of the house. It’s so bright and cheerful and would add life to our house.

  147. Vicki

This rug would be perfect for my two little thugs
With the beautiful colours it will bring a little class
Their room always messy with books and toys
Daddy always says they are just being typical boys..
But with this gorgeous rug on their floor, cleaning won’t be such a chore!

  148. May
    / 9:08 pm

So the “perfect” place for this rug would be in the master bedroom because it would rarely get crumbs or spew or any child-like mishaps. But, in reality it would go in the loungeroom because it’s gorgeous and everyone must admire it! If it’s as soft and plush as you say it is, it will be where my youngest son learns how to crawl and walk. Not to mention the beautiful colour suits our feature wall in the lounge room. It will become a feature in itself and be a part of the lasting memories we make in the heart of our house.

  149. Tamara Guljas

This beautiful rug will look amazing in my kitchen/dining room. My colour scheme consists of mainly grey, blues and teal so it is perfect.???

  150. Alexandra

This rig would be amazing for our family room. With a 2 yr old and 4 month old the tiles can be uncomfortable and cold in winter. I would love the carpet court rug for them to play on and be co fortable and warm

Upstairs I have a lounge that’s always been a bit of a “nothing room”. This rug is the inspiration to turn my “nothing room”, into a “something room”!
It’s the perfect size, colour, and design to make the room pop, but at the same time add the calm elegance, and style, that it’s been desperately lacking!

  153. Ali Platts

We’re slowly renovating our 80’s townhouse and this rug would be perfect for the loft which we’re turning into a master suite/parents retreat. This matches our quilt cover and the tranquil blue look we’re going for.

  155. Wendy Hatton
    / 6:46 pm

I’d love it for my bedroom that has a timber floor and no particular style at the moment. I’d then be prompted to do a bit of restyling around this pretty rug. It looks pretty cosy underfoot too.

  156. Maree Gray
    / 6:32 pm

We have just moved into our own place and the carpet is a dull neutral colour so this gorgeous rug would brighten our lounge room and make it warm and welcoming

    / 5:18 pm

This would be divine in my girls bedroom! We’ve been building a new home for a longgggg 4 years (due for completion in January!) and in the meantime have had our 4th little girl! She is now going to be sharing with 2 of her big sisters, this would add so much colour to their space, and it sounds so soft and comfortable. Not only that, it would help me start off a theme for their room :)

  158. Veronique

  160. Karen Mitchell

Looks like the perfect rug for our lounge room, which needs a spring pick-me-up. We’re still feeling the winter khaki drabbiness, so I feel that a shot of that gorgeous teal will chase the khaki away.

Carpet Call’s ‘Manhattan rug would be perfect for the ‘playroom’ where the polished floor is partly covered with a folding picnic rug that is disintegrating along the folds. The “Manhattan’ would be magically warm in Winter too.

  166. Jade O
    / 3:37 pm

On the cold, hard tiles in our dining room. A family hub, and place for the kids to play, where we currently have an ugly, threadbare 15 year old rug. This would fit perfectly and add a little Manhattan luxury and style to the room.

Where is the perfect place for this rug in your home and why?…
We are currently renovating our house (almost a years journey now) ourselves which leaves little space (our bedroom) for time together…
…Since we are renovating and doing a lot of DIYs our room has become a dumping ground for everything whilst working on the rest of the house. This space is suppose to be our retreat and a place for us to spend time together but since the changes in the house we really just use it to sleep and store junk. I am wanting to do a huge cleanout as a surprise for my partner and make our room a little more inviting for me and my partner to actually enjoy some quality time and a space to just chill. This rug would help me revamp not only the room but make our space that little more enjoyable to be in.
I hope whoever wins enjoys this rug as much as I would :)

    Thank you :)

    / 12:41 pm

I’d love to place this just inside my entrance. It’s a large space, but hard to fill, and needs something to brighten it up when leading into our home.

  179. / 12:31 pm

Oooooo….lovely…the rug colours are very ‘love from Mim’ even!! I would love a new rug, as despite a lovely couch, my kids insist on lying flat on their backs on the rug to watch a show. It is old, threadbare and U-G-L-Y, UGLY! Very old school Turkish style that has possibly existed for centuries…maybe…?. Gorgeous office; we all know just how a rug choice can change a room!

  180. Tania C
    / 12:28 pm

Mim I need this rug in my lounge stat! I currently have a shaggy mink coloured rug there but with the mushroom coloured tiles and white walls, it’s all a bit same same – or as my mother-in-law says of my interior (and possibly personal) style, “bland, bland, bland!”. I have decided blue is what I need to freshen up the space while maintaining a sense of calm in my head, so the Manhattan is perfect! And I really need to relocate the mink rug to the tv room to hide the gigantic (and seemingly permanent) banana smoothie stain on the carpet – preferably before the mother-in-law’s next visit!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  181. Rachel
    / 12:25 pm

This rug would look beautiful in my home office too Mim, it’s my little sanctuary away from the ferals – it’s the only place in the house where the décor is anything beyond ‘kids’ play-centre chic’ ;)

  182. Michelle fay
    / 12:21 pm

In my lounge room where the kids love playing video games, we have wooden floors so this would be perfect especially in winter and it would create a very cosy look and feel about the whole room

I would love to have this in my bedroom. Our house was half eaten by termites and its been a long and slow rebuild job. At the moment we are working on the kitchen so for years my bedroom has gone without floor coverings. Its just the bare concrete slab. Without doubt a classy rug would change the entire look of the room and would be lovely and soft under foot.

  184. Samara McRae
    / 12:17 pm

Definitely my home office. At the moment it is sterile and boring and a little bit cold. I would love to make it feel more homely and luxurious, especially considering I spend all day during the week in there working. I want it to be a nice, happy space.

  185. Deborah Bolam

I have as luck would have it just changed my all white (what was I thinking impossible to keep spotless with kids and furbabies) interior scheme to a more realistic creamy caramel with dark wood lots of greenery and teal accents so when I saw this I almost fell off the couch.
Its perfect!! and would take pride of place in my lounge in front of the sofa where I could show it off to all my visitors.
I dont deserve to win more than anyone else but I really hope I do.
    Thanks for the opportunity Mim.
