If you’re looking for the best gift idea for cancer patients, I think you will love this one!
You may know that I last year I underwent treatment for Breast Cancer.
I was so overwhelmed at the number of beautiful and thoughtful gifts that my friends sent to me. A couple of those were care packages. My friends had clearly taken the time to think about what goodies I would love. As well as that, they were useful gifts too and often kept me occupied and my mind off treatment.

The Empathy Gift Co
I recently discovered The Empathy Gift Co, founded by Melbourne mum, Samantha Lehmann. She set up the Empathy Gift Co after going through some painful personal experiences. After her brother, and more recently her father, passed away, Samantha also experienced an anxiety disorder, GAD.
Grief hit her hard but made her think about what gave her comfort during those painful times. Flowers were sent in abundance and, whilst lovely, they didn’t quite help.
She established her business to provide a range of helpful, comforting and helpful gifts focused on healing and wellness.
The Breast Cancer Care Package
I want to share with you one of the packages from her range, which Samantha very kindly sent to me. It is a variation of the Breast Cancer Care Package.

Inside the box, the contents were carefully wrapped in tissue paper:
My box contains a gorgeous Green Tea Hand and Body Lotion, a Cacao Bath Ball, A Nail Polish (the colour is SO me), a beautiful Soap and “The Language of Healing” book.
I love how each item would be so soothing to someone undergoing chemo or radiation. Chemo wrecked havoc on my skin and my hands were so dry from having to wash them constantly.
I just love this care package and think it’s a wonderful gift idea for cancer patients. If you’re looking for what to buy for someone who has cancer, this is a great idea.
The pre-made and customisable range of gifts that The Empathy Gift Co offers is vast. In fact, is has a gift for everyone from birthdays to breakups, new babies to those who just need cheering up!

One of the best presents I got was from my friends when I went through Breast Cancer last year. I still have the motivational card which I carry with me all the time. It has such a beautiful poem on it.
A phone call, it lets me know they are thinking off me, and they let me know that they are ok. :)
I think that the best gift I ever got was my husband. He is wonderful.
the best gift every was my kids followed by my grandkids
A handmade card from my Grandmother. At the time I hated it – it was made from a piece of A4 paper folded in four, then some dried flowers stuck to the front and cover in Contact plastic adhesive covering. It must have been the first time she had used it because it was creased and poorly done. Now this is a special gift I still have in my possession and is the most treasured memory I own from my Grandmother.
The best gift I received was for my 50th birthday. A present from my family. ..a Pandora Bracelet.
The best gift I ever “received” was being asked to be my niece’s visitor at her kindergarten Mother’s Day! She said that she wanted to spoil me, rather than Mum or Grandma, because I spoil her! I spent the day in happy tears!
My husband bought me some wireless headphones and they are fabulous. I can watch my movies while I iron without worrying about melting the headphone lead!

A watch my hubby brought for me, because my previous eloved watch was stolen :(
Any gifts from my children I adore,
Handmade gifts a specialty thats for sure,
Made with love and care,
No other gift can compare.
A beautiful and meaningful idea.
The best gift was from my daughter, she got it from the Mother’s day stall this year, she thought long and hard about what Mamma would like or need. So i got some scented pillows for my wardrobe (because I had been saying that because my shoes were in there and started to smell) and a microwave egg poacher, because i love eggs for breakfast but don’t have the time to do this on work days.

A framed picture of my son, his handprints and a poem, I love that I will always have this
I received a swarovski mickey mouse and john deere merchandise from my partner, my two favourite things in one. Definitely the most amazing and surprising present.
What lovely gifts. I have received so many beautiful gifts over the years, but the ones that stand out are the ones handmade from my children. Many of these still exist in an overflowing box of treasures I keep.
The best gift I have ever received was a trip to Vegas just this year . To be given such an amazing gift to somewhere we have only dreamed about was amazing.
A babysitting voucher from my bestie – I got to use it on my anniversary date with the husband!
Sam, a little dachshund cross, a Christmas present from Grandma. We loved him and he loved us, Mum not so impressed, but eventually she loved him too!
I was given a little black and white kitten who I named Shere Khan… She was a gift that kept on giving… cuddles, snuggles and kisses, particularly when I was trying to sleep or do some cooking… Dear little soul.
A box of chocolates with a lovely handwritten card from my teenage son. He rarely expresses emotions so the card will be treasured always.
A Carlisle shirt from my daughter. It was especially special as she had to find the website to purchase from England and I am a big fan of Carlisle!
A surprise trip to Singapore from my husband :) We went there for our honeymoon 25 years ago and had an even better time for our second honeymoon
The best gift ever was a golden heart necklace engraved with the words “Thank you for saving my heart” and on the back of the heart engraved with a date. It was given to me by my friend who had complained to me late one night about not feeling well and he told me his symptoms. I nagged him to get to the Emergency Room. In the end and being super annoyed with me for being such a nag he went only to find he was having a heart attack. He credits me with saving his life.
Best gift I ever received was a CD my children and son in law put together, singing a selection of my favourite songs, my son who hasn’t studied voice did a few lines of singing, and read a story that was a favourite when they were little. I know the work and planning that would have gone into this gift, and I treasure it.
The best gift was bling from Tiffanys when hubby visited NYC years ago. Beautiful and I love to wear it.

The best gift I have received is a crocheted star blanket made by my beautiful friend. She made it herself for when I wore my son in a carrier in the winter and I can’t wait to use it also when baby #2 arrives. It is a gorgeous piece where you can feel the love imbued in it.
It’s not a gift I have received, but one that I sent. A friend was going through a hard time so I anonymously sent her a “Ray Of Sunshine” in a box. It was a small yellow gift box filled with all yellow gifts with little tags attached. That was 2 years ago and she still has no idea who sent it!
I am married to a gift ninja so it’s hard to choose the best present I ever received! My favourite story is probably when we had been dating for about 3 months I complained about my crappy kettle scorching my tea leaves. He nodded stoically and the conversation moved on. 9 months later we had our first Christmas together and he bought me a variable temperature tea maker that I still love 6 years later. The man can take an idle complaint and turn it into the perfect for most the later. BAM – gift ninja-ed!
The best gift I ever received was when my mum finally woke up after being in ICU for 6 weeks after an operation
What a gorgeous idea. I had an occasion recently when this would have been perfect. Sometimes flowers seem too festive and words arent sufficient. Thanks for sharing.
