A few of my friends have had babies recently and some are due in the next few months, so it got me thinking about some gift ideas for new mums that we might get for them when the baby arrives.
Becoming a mum for the first time was such a wonderful experience for me and having my second baby was the icing on the cake.
I was given so many lovely gifts for me and the babies and here are some of the things I loved the most. These gift ideas for mums have inspired me for the future!

Gift Ideas for New Mums
My gift ideas for new mums are:
1. Nappy Changing Essentials!
We were sent a huge basket of new baby goodies from an aunt including some baby wipes and nappy rash cream or powder from Curash! The wipes are thick and absorbent, soap free, alcohol free and hypoallergenic and we’ve used them on both babies.

I love the Curash range as it’s gentle on my baby’s skin and even use their baby shampoo myself!
2. Teething Necklace
Whilst you cannot predict when it will start, teething is inevitable for all babies. I love the range of teething necklaces from Fox & Finn. They’re so pretty and stylish compared to others I’ve seen that look like cheap, brightly coloured toys.
These beautiful necklaces are soft, chewable and 100% non-toxic – perfect for baby and mum!
Fox & Finn sent me this beautiful Avery necklace in ‘Mint Gelato’ and I love wearing it. Mint is my favourite colour so it goes with a lot of my outfits! Mini loves gnawing on it too.
3. Grobag Baby Sleep Bags
Both my babies have loved sleeping in these beautiful baby sleep bags and this is one of my favourite mum to be gifts. They are available for babies from Newborn size upwards and in different togs so there’s a Grobag for all year round!
Here’s my baby son cuddled up in the Grobag Seaside Sleep Bag in size 6-18 months.
4. Skincare for Mum and Baby
I love skincare gifts and I’m also a big fan of products that are gentle enough for all of my family can use. I love the GAIA Skin Naturals range and they’re fab new mum gifts ideas or gifts for new parents.

I love this GAIA Natural Baby Mini Traveller kit which contains 50ml sizes of their Bath & Body Wash, Baby Shampoo Baby Moisturiser and and we always take it with us when we travel or stay somewhere over night.
These organic and natural products are great for all the family and smell lovely too! I think they’re lovely new mum pampering gifts. Pregnancy can sometimes take it’s toll on skin so using gentle, natural products is a good idea.
GAIA also have a lovely Baby Starter Kit which contains these bottle plus a Soothing Lotion and Massage Oil! You can find it here.
5. Everything they’ve been missing!
Think sushi from their favourite restaurant or a bottle of champagne! 9 months is a long time to go without some of your favourite food and drink and, although I didn’t go wild, it was lovely to have a little drink and raise a toast to my new babies!
Or how about when you’re invited to visit the new baby, take around some prepared freezer meals to help the new little family out? Or you could offer to come around and help with cleaning or washing or even taking the baby for a walk to give the new parents a little bit of sleep – they’ll love you for that!
What were the best gift ideas for expecting mothers you were given? Any suggestion for other gifts for new mums?
I think these would also be lovely for Mother’s Day gift ideas or baby shower gifts for a new mum.

We were sent some lovely gift ideas for new mums from Curash, GAIA and Grobag in exchange for our honest review although we had been using products from the ranges for years and love them! Fab ideas, that teething necklace is beautiful. I always think a home cooked meal, or vouchers for something like ‘Cook’ (in the UK anyway!) is a great idea… Not that I’m hoping my friends might read this haha xx
It’s such a pretty necklace :) Ha ha I think that’s a great idea for meal vouchers! x x
The gro-bag was a fantastic find for us: our then baby slept a whole lot better in his cot once we wasn’t able to kick all his covers off. The amber teething necklace we got seemed to make a big difference too, so I would recommend them too.
Brilliant, thank you so much! I love Grobags too, my two have loved them.
Such wonderful ideas :-D Thanks for sharing x #thelist
Thank you! x
Some lovely ideas – that teething necklace is gorgeous! I heard someone suggest a Starbucks or Costa giftcard as it would help their new mum friend to get out of the house – thought it was a great idea! #thelist
That’s a great idea! x
Some fabulous ideas. I really like that teething necklace and I’m a huge fan of grobags too, mine slept so much better in those and there was no worry about them crawling under the covers.
Nat.x
That’s such a good point – I was so paranoid about blankets, Grobags are perfect :) x
