5 Gifts for New Parents who have Everything

Whether you’re looking for baby shower gifts or Christmas gifts for new parents, it can be a bit of a challenge to find gifts for new parents who have everything!

I’ve lost track of the times I’d bought what I thought were unique baby gifts to turn up at a new mums’ house and see she already had it. Or three of them.

Good gifts for parents might be funny, unique, practical or beautiful. It can be a struggle to know what to buy a new mum or dad though.

When I was expecting my first baby, I planned everything in advance that I thought we needed and compiled a HUGE shopping list of new baby items.

Whilst I was super organised, I spent too much and bought things I later found out I didn’t need.

It also meant that when generous family and friends asked us what we needed, well, we really didn’t need anything else!

I’ve collaborated with ergoPouch, who are the kind sponsors of this post, to bring you six of their best baby gifts.

How to Choose Presents for Parents who have Everything

If you’re looking for baby present ideas or Christmas present ideas for parents of a new baby, you could simply ask them what they want or need.

The best presents for new parents do not need to be a surprise – and many parents will really appreciate you checking with them.

My best friends organised an amazing baby shower for us and some of the unique baby shower gift ideas we received were fantastic though.

Our lovely friends had really taken the time to think about thoughtful baby shower presents that we would really appreciate.

Their unique baby shower gifts were some ideas that even my detailed plans hadn’t considered, and we were blown away by their generosity.

Since then, when I’ve been looking for the best new baby gifts for friends who are expecting, I’ve been inspired by the things I loved, as a new mum.

If you’re looking for unique new mum gifts or Christmas gifts for parents who have everything, here’s some inspo!

5 Gift ideas for Parents who have Everything

A Comforter with a BIG Difference

Comforters have always been one of the best newborn gifts for expecting parents but, as lovely as they are, they’re just not unique gifts for new parents, are they?

Until now! Have you seen the ergoPouch Joey Trackable Comforter?

This is one of the best unique newborn baby gift ideas I’ve seen – let me tell you more.

New babies to toddlers love soft and cosy comforters to cling on to. But what happens when it gets mislaid?

I’ll tell you what – all hell breaks loose!

The day my daughter lost her cuddly dog was the day I thought my heart would break in two. Her face and the tears were all I could take, and we moved heaven and earth to get it back.

Luckily, we knew where it was (Brisbane airport, grr!) and managed to get it back – although it was weeks later, and we had many sleepless nights until it was returned.

ergoPouch Joey Trackable Comforter

The Joey ergoPouch Trackable Comforter has a child safe trackable device that can be paired with your phone, so you will never lose track of it!

It’s soft and cuddly and made from bamboo and cotton.

It has low energy Bluetooth and has been tested and passed all safety requirements for Australia and New Zealand.

2. Limited Edition “Nature Collection” Sleep Wear

Forget plain and boring onesies and sleep wear, the ergoPouch Nature Collection has been inspired by the diverse Australian landscape.

ergoPouch Swaddle Sleep Bag Bamboo Drops

ergoPouch Swaddle Sleep Bag Bamboo Drops

It features “Waves”, “Drops” and “Rainforest Leaves” and this stunning collection includes bamboo swaddles, sleeping bags, sleep wear, sleep suit bags (these are genius!) and robes for mum. More on those later!

Find out more about the Cocoon range here.

The Layers (pyjamas) in the Nature Collection range are so beautiful and practical baby gifts too.

ergoPouch Long Sleeve Sleep Wear Suit

These useful baby gifts are TOG rated for warmth, and can be worn alone or underneath a swaddle, sleeping bag or sleep suit bag – so perfect for all year round.

These soft, bamboo and organic cotton layers have a 3-way zippers, so nappy checks and changes are SO much easier. Even those pesky middle-of-the-night ones.

Plus, they have fold over cuffs and mitts to keep babies snug and protected.

3. Something for the bigger babes

If you’re looking for unique baby gift ideas that will wow a mum – the ergoPouch Sleep Suit bags really will.

In fact, these award-winning sleep suit bags are perfect for little ones up to age four.

So, if you’re looking for baby shower present ideas and don’t want to risk getting something they already have, consider getting a gift for when their baby is a bit bigger.

Many mums can end up with too much for the newborn months and a lot can go unused.

So, whilst sleepwear makes great newborn baby presents, try to think of a way to make your gift stand out.

ergoPouch Sleep Suit Bag

The 2-in-1 design transforms this from a sleeping bag to a sleep suit with legs using zippers.

When our babies were a little older and started to stand and walk, we had to pack our sleeping bags away and some were barely used.

The ergoPouch Sleep Suit bags can be easily transformed into a suit and with added grip pads at the feet, these are fab for toddlers on the move, and for naps in a car seat.

I would have LOVED these – it would have really prolonged the life of our sleeping bags and saved us money.

Check out the full Sleep Suit Bag range here.

4. Freedom to Travel

When my babies were small, we travelled a lot both overseas and within Australia – showing off our new babies to the family.

Until we invested in a travel cot, most of the places we stayed at had nowhere for our bub to sleep.

ergoPouch Foldable Carry Bed

ergoPouch Foldable Carry Bed

The ergoPouch Foldable Carry Bed is a multi-functional, foldable bed that’s perfect for supervised napping and lounging for babies from birth to six months old.

Weighing just 2.6kgs, this slim and practical travel bed would be so handy for parents on-the-go.

One of the biggest inconveniences for us when traveling with our minis is the sheer amount of bags we need to take with us. And they’re SO heavy!

The ergoPouch Carry bed makes it so much easier to travel lightly, it’s made from natural fibres and is ready to use with no assembly.

Both of my babies suffered from reflux in the early months and this clever bed can be elevated to help relieve that.

This is one of the most practical new baby gift ideas I’ve seen and you can find out more about it here.

5. Presents for New Mums

Babies aside, if you’re looking for new mother gifts, how about the ergoPouch Matchy Matchy Robe?

The presents for new mothers I tend to choose are the things I would have enjoyed – within the self-care and relaxation theme.

Because becoming a new mum is so rewarding but also soooo exhausting in the early months.

ergoPouch Matchy Matchy Robes

I love this super soft, bamboo robe for Mums for two reasons.

Firstly, how CUTE that a new mum can match her mini! This range of robes matches ergoPouch’s newborn Cocoon Swaddle Bag and Layers range. How lovely to buy mother and baby gifts that match?

Also, it’s perfect for an expecting mum to pack into her hospital bag, can be worn during delivery, breastfeeding and when she’s back at home with her new bub.

Gifts for mum to be do not have to be for the baby – they can be something special for her too.

If you’re wondering what to buy for a baby shower or a looking for the best gift for a new born baby, I hope these five ideas have helped you choose.

ergoPouch Nature Collection

Parents to be gifts can be practical and beautiful and I think the ergoPouch range really has you covered there.

Their gorgeous range of beautifully designed, natural fibre and innovative baby products make really special gift ideas for new parents.

I love the design of the new Nature Collection range and how innovative some of the above ideas are. When I’m looking for gifts for first time parents, if I can do anything to make their life easier, I will.

When I became a mum for the first time, even my months of planning didn’t prepare me for the huge change in my life.

The lack of sleep took its toll quickly, and I barely had a second to myself.

I struggled more first time around because it was all just so new. If I’d have known about ergoPouch’s Cocoon Swaddles and Layers, then night time changes might have been a LOT easier!

The Foldable Carry Bed would have made out stays away from home a lot easier too – and would have meant travelling was much lighter.

If you’re looking for some ideas for great baby gifts or top baby shower gifts, I hope you like my picks from the ergoPouch range.

We got some great baby presents, such as the loan of 3 carriers so we could decide which to keep, to the hamper of consumables. We were still sorted for bubble bath and shampoo when number 2 arrived! Books are still my favourite, and many stay with us way past the baby stage.

A fortnightly cleaner for a couple of months. The last thing they will want to do or have the energy to do is clean the house. Better they spend their time bonding with bub and enjoying the newborn bubble.

My gifts has been appreciated a number of times and it’s very practicable a weeks worth of meals in 5 Mason jar’s with very simple instructions for the crockpot, meat and vegetables all prepared and bagged , so all new Mummy has to do is empty jar and meat ad water and turn slow cooker on in the morning and dinner is ready when they are. I also do jars or packets for muffins, biscuits and cakes…
