Inexpensive Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

I’m so excited to bring you these beautiful and inexpensive Mother’s Day gift ideas!

I recently popped into my local Harris Scarfe to grab some ‘me time’ goodies for myself. With the colder weather on its way in NSW, my first point of call was the Sleepwear section for ideas for the best Mothers Day gifts.

I don’t know about you but when I’ve stopped work for the day, picked up the kids and we’ve had dinner, the first thing I do is change into my PJs. Same?

It’s like a signal that the slog is over and now it’s time to relax with the fam. Well until bedtime battles – we’ll ignore that for now…!

Sponsored Harris Scarfe review.

Budget-Friendly Gifts for Mother’s Day

One brand at Harris Scarfe that’s totally “me” is Sash and Rose. It’s a range of super soft and cosy sleepwear including slouchy tees, pants, slippers and dressing gowns.

Harris Scarfe Sleepwear

For sleepwear my favourite colours are navy blue and grey – I literally have no idea why, I just gravitate towards them. I was tempted by the soft pink pieces but in the end opted for blue and white flannelette pants and a matching 3/4 sleeve tee in blue.

Harris Scarfe Dressing Gown

I also opted for a matching fluffy-soft dressing down in the same colours but a different pattern.

Oh my word “cosy” doesn’t cover it – this is literally like being cuddled by a cloud.

I’ve resisted getting a fluffy dressing gown for years – I thought they were reserved for the nanna generation although I kick myself every time I get out of bed in winter and freeze.

I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m pushing 40 or because I’ve realised the error of my ways but as far as I’m concerned, it’s out with the cold and in with the cuddly-soft and toasty-warm dressing gowns!

Harris Scarfe Slippers

I’ll be grabbing these cable knit slippers next time I’m in – toasty toes too! Ok, I’m sounding like I’m 80 now, I’ll try to stop.

Harris Scarfe Sash and Rose Cable Knit Slipper Socks - Love from Mim

I bought my mum a dressing gown last year and this year I think I’ll be grabbing her some PJs – she hates the cold as much as I do. And we all need sleepwear, right? So, an easy choice for Mother’s Day present ideas.

Harris Scarfe Sash and Rose Dressing Gown - Love from Mim

“Me time” is hard to come by for most busy parents – I find it a struggle some days to grab a few minutes for myself.

There are little ways to treat yourself though that don’t take too much time or money but can add up to making a big difference.

Harris Scarfe MOZI Range

The MOZI range at Harris Scarfe has so many goodies like this and here are a few of my faves for Mother’s Day gifts:

Harris Scarfe MOZI Range - Love from Mim

  1. I love using hand wash and hand lotion – it’s a few minutes of self-care and this Hand Wash in Fig Blossom smells so lovely. Plus, it’s currently only $9.95!
  2. How cute is the Forest Birdie Cushion! Plus, it’s only $24.95 currently and would look lovely in any room. I would have this on my office chair.
  3. This Velour Beach Towel is currently only $15 and is in my favourite minty blue colour.
  4. The beautiful Fig Blossom candle is a lovely match to the hand wash – are you obsessed with candles like me? I think they make great Mothers Day presents. It’s only $14.95 right now.

I would submit myself to luxury,
to relaxation – oh my gosh.
    I’d wear my fluffy slippers,
    and be a little posh.
I’d eat a dab of chocolate,
maybe a hint or sip of wine.
    but in absolute honestly,
A nap would be just fine!

  2. / 4:33 pm

Oh my gosh!! Could you believe the very first thing I would get is the Polder Stylestation! Who would’ve thought that you could hang your straightener and dryer in the one spot?! Wow! Where has this been all my life?? Lol. The next item would have to be hands down the Soren 1000 thread count sheet set. I have one set and its soooooo luxurious that I refuse to put anything else on my bed, which makes for a difficult day when I change the sheets, but I get it done. The next item would be matching towels and bathmat. Soren of course! Oops, I may have gone over, but I always do at Harris Scarfes!!

I’d treat myself to the Husky Envy Longline Shell Coat to keep me warm on my commute to work during the freezing months :)

  6. Tanya
    / 9:53 pm

The dressing gown looks soft and comfy. With the nights beginning to chill, this would be my ideal choice of products. Although I can almost guarantee that I would have to fight my kids for it on some mornings..

  7. Skye Blumfield
    / 9:37 pm

Definitely a dunlopillow for my aching neck and some beautiful pillow cases and sheets to go along with it :)

  8. Eva Kiraly

An Antler Juno suitcase. Mum is returning to Italy for the first time in 30 years this September. Given she’ll need to leave a manifesto of documents on running the house for Dad (from washing machine, to kitty litter to sprinklers) this would free up some time for her.

Turning on the heater fills me with guilt

  22. Jordana Hodgetts
    / 7:17 am

I’d love one of the giant armrest pillows which are designed for sitting up in bed. I currently have three flat pillows set up behind me whilst I feed my newborn overnight and it still isn’t enough support. A big boofta of a pillow would be awesome, and make it so much more comfy for me at 2am half asleep with my wife awake daughter!

  23. Anna
    / 4:06 pm

I would love a pair of the Cherrylane Knit Back Boots to keep my tootsy toes as warm as toast!!

  24. Elly C
    / 11:32 am

I would love a Thermomix to help me with meal times so we can enjoy healthy and delicious foods.

  25. Maggie Karner
    / 8:14 pm

I would shout myself some new underwear. It seems that because no one can actually see your underwear, it is the last item that women replace or update. I would love a Berlei Womankind Sport Spacer Bra and several pairs of Bonds Cottontails – Midi in different colours.

  26. Danni
    / 4:16 pm

  35. Anni G.

I’ve registered again this year to walk 4.5 km in the Mother’s Day Classic raising funds for Breast Cancer research.. I’d love some new PINK gear for this event. Harris Scarfe’s Lma Active Womens Space Dye Stripe Tee in PINK – for fine warm weather or Lma Active Womens Long Sleeve Hoody in PINK if the weather was cooler…PERFECT! … and for recovery time…a hot shower with new towels and then relaxing in Simply Vera Vera Wang’s Relaxed Sleep pant and topped with Sash& Rose’s Ribbon Rim V neck top.

    A Sheridan Flannellette sheet set,

What else? Not sure, it’s sooo hard to choose!

  38. Lesley Olariu
    / 6:58 am

    My bed needs some love
So a luxurious mattress topper and a new sheet set would be much appreciated!

  39. Rachel K
    / 4:08 am

Definitely the Nespresso Coffee Maker because I like a smooth strong cup of coffee. The type that would put any normal person in a head spin or make them feel so exhilarated they thought they had just come off a roller coaster! Well my coffee experience doesn’t take me on a ride, I take it on my roller coaster ride of life and there is no room for DECAF passengers!!
Like a roller coaster I start of slow in the morning, regular coffee intake helps me rise up and over the highs and climb out of the lows of the day very quickly. You could say it was my engine fuel!!! This is mostly how I function during the week but weekends are a different story!
I guess you could say I use coffee as a stimulant during the week but on weekends it is for relaxing and enjoying what life has to offer. Rather like a ferris wheel I guess. On weekends I like to sit at the top and watch the world buzz around at the bottom. It all looks so insignificant from up here!
So as you can see I have a serious coffee addiction, I need it, I want it, I love it!! It’s my stimulant and relaxant and yet I sleep like a baby at night. That part has always puzzled me!!

  40. Carolyn Peake
    / 12:59 am

I went into Harris Scarfe on the weekend to find some underwear and I was pleasantly surprised to find so many bargains and things I didn’t know that I needed! I came out with knickers, a sweet MOZI cat doorstop and a tray with a non slip base for my precious wine glasses!. Spent a long time in the MOZI homewares and linen section, so that’s where Id spend my prize for sure! Their stuff is so cute, kitch and Aussie!

  41. / 12:03 am

Ohhhh my gosh so much to choose from! Heading into such a cold winter though I would 100% go with the Savannah waffle gown for myself and the
Killarney Super Loft Microdown Quilt in Queen size to snuggle up under at night… ahhh heaven!

  42. tamra

Id treat myself to new bedding. Sheets or doona. Or perhaps a new wardrobe for winter. Both are in desperate need of a makeover.

  44. Sarah J
    / 9:13 pm

I’d treat myself to a new bedding set,
Always something I seem to forget,
Faux pillows and a throw rug,
    To cuddle up all snug.
    Laying in comfort and style,
    Something I haven’t had for a while,
    Thanks Harris Scarf.

  45. / 9:10 pm

I’d give mum something warm to wear,
Because I feel I owe her,
She keeps me warm all year,
With warm hugs to die for!

  46. Louise
    / 9:10 pm

I’d get another flannelette doona cover. I never realised that they were a thing until I bought one last year. It’s so lovely having it cuddly on top as well as the sheet. I need another for when that one is in the wash :)

  47. Tracy Mackay
    / 9:06 pm

So many gorgeous things to choose from but for going out and looking fab, I pick the Khoko Smart Stephanie Floral Bomber jacket and also the stylish Samantha Rosemary Pea coat. For night time sloth outs and being warm and toasty I pick the Fila Women’s Terry pant.

  48. Nat H
    / 8:43 pm

Ive recently become a single mum and now that I’ve got the WHOLE bed to myself I’d love some new flanelette sheets to keep me cosy!
Undoubtedly my little midnight visitors will keep me warm with snuggles (and a toe up the nose), but there’s something about fresh sheets that shouts “new beginings!”

  49. Lauren Hunt
    / 8:40 pm

A dressing gown would do just fine, something to keep me warm, make me feel divine. Or a new bedset to brighten my room, instead of it looking quite doom and gloom. But honestly what I would treat myself to, would be a new Raco saucepan set so I can indulge in fondue.

  50. TanyaC
    / 8:33 pm

I would buy a lovely new pair of PJ’s. Boring I know but my current sleepwear is actually recycled day clothing and hubby says it should be reserved for Sunday’s because it is so holy!
