Last Minute Gifts and Cards

Looking for last minute gifts and cards for family and friends? Here’s one of my fave budget friendly last minute gifts and card ideas to send worldwide!

As organised as I try to be, there are some things I don’t do well. Sending hand-written cards on time is probably top of that list and I’m pretty sure all my friends would vouch for that – sorry!

I have a saviour though in Moonpig. Have you heard of them?

Affiliate links below.

They’re a greeting card website where you can send cards and gifts worldwide in the click of a few buttons. This post is kindly sponsored by Moonpig.

I’ve been a fan for years!

Having lived overseas for ten years now, I’ve been using Moonpig almost weekly. I used their service from the first year they opened, long before they arrived in Australia.

I set reminders for every birthday and occasion that’s special for my family and friends. Then a few days before the event (you choose how long before), Moonpig emails me a reminder, I pop on to the Moonpig website and order my card and gift. DONE!

And this happens often because as much as I would love to go to the card shop, choose a card, hand write it and post it, it just isn’t really happening. There are too many other things to do, I forget to do it on time and the cards don’t get sent. So thank goodness for life-changing Moonpig :)

If you have a special event coming up soon, you might like these last minute gifts ideas. They make great long distance gifts but you can also send to anyone at home too!

Last Minute Gift Ideas for Family and Friends

1. A Personalised Mug!

For long distance friendship gifts, as well as for family, the range of personalised mugs at Moonpig is so cute. Here are some of my faves:

Moonpig Personalised Mugs - Love from Mim

There are sooo many to choose from, but simply choose your favourite design, upload pics (if relevant) and then personalise away until your mug is perfect.

Wouldn’t these make lovely last minute birthday gifts too? Your friend will think you’ve planned the whole thing in advance but actually, it’s super last minute.

When it’s done, you can choose who to send it to and when. Simples!

2. A Personalised Photo Greetings Card

I’ve loved sending these cards over the years to friends and family. You can choose from one of hundreds of designs and add photos of your loved one to make them super personal.

I’ve lost track of the ones I’ve sent and received and have loved them all.

Even when I was travelling overseas, my friends would send me these cards and I would send them back. In fact, if you’re looking for gift ideas for long distance family and friends but your budget is limited or postage is high, these can be so unique but quick to send.

Here are some of my favourites:

3. Personalised Cards for Kids

Who’s guilty of leaving sending cards and gifts to their God children, neices and nephews last minute?

This happens to me all the time. I’ll be chatting to a friend who casually mentions it’s their kids birthday that week…argh!

If I don’t have time to send a gift in the post to arrive before their big day, I’ll send a cute kids birthday card and follow up with a gift later or in person.

Cards can be personalised on the front, both pages inside and sometimes on the back too:

There are so many cards to choose from cute to funny to their favourite characters.

So whether it’s Mother’s Day gift ideas, birthdays, anniversaries or any occasion, Moonpig has you covered. If you’re living or traveling overseas and away from your partner, you’ll be able to find perfect long distance relationship gifts that let them know you’re thinking about them.

I’m loving the Paddington mug. I’d have to share with my 3 year old, who is quite addicted to all things Paddington Bear and quite fittingly called Paddy.

Keep Calm and Drink Coffee – The amount of times my colleagues have said this to me at work. I could have had this mug and just placed it where they could see. Would have saved them some breathe.

I’d pick the “I bloody love tea” for my mum; she always has a cuppa in her hand

I would choose ‘Just hand over the chocolate.’ I don’t drink tea of coffee but love my hot chocolates.

‘Charlie’s Coffee’ , except I would personalise it for my husband. The casual staff at his workplace often use his mug and it would be good if it had his name on it :)

Something about the “Keep Calm and Drink Coffee” appeals to the coffee addict in me… and may serve as a reminder to those surrounding me to let me swallow my cup contents before asking the serious questions! :)

I would give the pool balls one to my husband. We first ‘bonded’ over a game of pool, I think he was impressed I could beat him.
