A little life update

As you know, back in April we moved into our new home…our “forever home”. It’s been so lovely to get settled and we’re slowing getting the house as we want it to be.

We’ve been doing some decorating but there is so much more to come. Mr M needs to get a wriggle on and finish the bathroom but it’s almost done.

I’ve shared how our dining room and living rooms are looking. We still need to replace some flooring – carpet in the dining room is NOT working with two small children.

I can’t wait to start decorating more, especially the kids rooms. I want them to have bedrooms that they love and we have so many ideas. You might have seen me pinning like crazy!

I’ve been busy with work in the past few months and I’m absolutely loving every second of working for myself. I feel so lucky to be able to work from home and have a built up a great portfolio of work and clients now.

Being at home means I get so much more done – no commuting! I’ve been sharing some of my tips on planning my day and productivity and more are coming soon.

I do sometimes miss having colleagues although there are always a million and one blogging peers online to chat to and bounce ideas off. I love being part of the blogging community.

In fact, yesterday was my blog’s fourth birthday! When I wrote those first few awkward posts back in 2013, I never dreamed that my blog would become my job.

I have nothing to report – hurray! I had my 18 month Oncologist appointment a couple of weeks ago and all was fine.

So apart from the endless mission to eat healthier and do more exercise, no news is good news.

My babies aren’t really babies any more as they’re now aged two and four. My littlest tells me now that he’s a “little boy”, not a baby. Heartbreaking!

That said, I have zero urges to have any more kids. I love them, I love our family life, but that’s enough for me!

My daughter will probably be starting school next year. She’s so excited to start and we feel that she’s ready to go – it’s a hard decision though, isn’t it? How did you know when your kids were ready to start school?

So all in all, life is currently good. Not perfect, but good. After the drama of the last couple of years, I’m absolutely happy with that.

My outlook on life is so different now. I don’t strive to be the best, earn the most or do the most any more.

I just want my family to be happy, calm and healthy. For us to have fun and stay well.

How about you?

Happy blog birthday! I hope you did indeed use it as an excuse to have cake!

I’m so happy about your 18mo update.

Getting a house feeling “right” after a move takes time. We moved in April too. It’s a process.

And I have no clue about school! My son is 4yo and I am not sure whether we will be delaying his entry into proper school or not. I wish there was a magic 8 ball to tell us which decisions to make!
