Yes I said Mum and BABY Spa!
This week we were invited by Huggies Wipes to attend the launch of their new baby wipes at the very lovely Baby Spa in Kensington. I must say, I expected my first post partum trip to the spa to be all about ME. I didn’t mind handing the spotlight over to Mr M for the day and he thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Huggies Wipes are relaunching their brand new formulation. Your baby’s skin is left feeling naturally clean and healthy – so really they could not have picked a more fitting venue to share the new product.
Mum and Baby Spa Day
We got the train to London and the journey took about 2.5 hours. Have you ever taken your newborn on a commuter train at 7am? It’s ‘fun’! It was much better than I expected actually and Mini M really behaved himself. A tip for if you’re taking a baby on public transport, try and get an aisle seat. You then have room to feed them comfortably and get up and down when you need to.
Meeting the Huggies Team
We arrived and met the lovely Huggies team, the other Huggies Wipes Brand Ambassadors and the Huggies panel of experts. We had a great opportunity before Mini M had his spa treatments to chat to the panel of experts – a Midwife, Dermatologist and Health Visitor. Huggies Pure Wipes are great for newborns from birth.
We had chosen to use water and cotton wool during nappy changes in the early weeks with my babies. Huggies Pure Wipes provide gentle cleansing in the same way. This is perfect for busy mums who are out and about with their babies.
I also picked up some great tips from on how to treat Mini’s cradle cap which has just appeared. We’re off to the pharmacy to get some Epiderm!
The Baby Spa
I loved watching the older babies bobbing around in the spa and enjoying themselves. I wondered how Mini M would take to it considering he was much younger at 8 weeks old. Turns out, there was no need to worry as he was so relaxed! This was really helped by how gentle and caring Laura, the owner, and her team were with him.
Laura actually designed the baby spa with newborn babies in mind. It’s world’s first Baby Spa that lulls your baby to sleep in the real sanctuary of neonatal development. The Spa’s hydrotherapy and dynamic movement allow babies as young as two days to quietly explore their muscles’ strength and gently form their bone structure. It is optimal for babies’ relaxation and wellness. All equipment is appointed for the babies’ comfort, from the water purified by reverse osmosis system to patented floating devices.
Mini had a whale of a time bobbing around in his miniature individual newborn flotation pool. He wore a very fetching purple, patented flotation device around his neck. This is the baby who hates bath time!
Baby Massage
After his hydrotherapy session, Laura treated him to a gentle massage. The look on his face gazing up at her was delightful, he loved every second.
As it that wasn’t a treat enough for me, I also got an Indian head massage! After never having one before, I can highly recommend them :)
Huggies Wipes
Huggies Wipes really did pick the perfect venue for the launch of their new wipes. The Huggies Pure Wipes are favourites of ours and a regular feature in my changing bag. Unlike a lot of other wipes, they’re made with natural absorbent fibres. They’re also free from parabens, alcohol and phenoxyethanol, and kind to baby’s skin. I love how thick and absorbent they. I also love that they leave no oily residue as I often grab to use them myself. Which is handy, given that if Mini isn’t spilling his dinner down me, I’m spilling my own!
Thank you Huggies Wipes and Baby Spa for a wonderful, unique experience!
Oh wow you were so brave getting on a commuter train with a newborn! I can’t stand those trains when it’s just me! Looks like a fab day at the spa!
It was a ‘fun’ experience! It was so packed and not much elbow room for breastfeeding! :)
Well done on the whole newborn on a commuter train thing – you should have had the treatment after that! It looks so relaxing for them all. Sad to miss it but look forward to meeting you at the next one x
Ha ha it was ‘fun’ on the train! Looking forward to meeting you too :)
The pics of Mini M are priceless! Love them!
He looks so funny! :)
I have seen some pictures on Instagram of older babies in the floats and they seemed odd. Now I understand. Looks so relaxing. :-)
It really was – I wasn’t sure until we got there but it was just lovely! :)
It was so lovely to meet you, and mini M is so gorgeous! I would love to take Finn back, he seemed so relaxed in there!
Ah likewise, so lovely to meet you both – Finn was such a good boy and so cute in the pool! x x
This looks like such a wonderful experience! We use Huggies wipes all the time, definitely our wipes brand of choice x
Oh it was brilliant – I want to go back! :)
It was so lovely to meet you Mim. These photos are SO cute. Hope your journey back was relatively easy (how ever easy any train journey with a newborn is anyway!) x
So lovely to meet you too Molly! He slept for most of it, we clearly need a trip to the spa more often :)
I’m dribbling a bit just reading this. What a lovely experience :) x
Ha ha it was amazing – definitely recommend the spa!! :)
Wow, looks like a lovely day out. I’ve only seen those neck floatation things once before. It seems so wrong, but it’s OK for them, right?
It is – they’re so at ease and comfortable :)
