Outdoor Activities for Kids in collaboration with The Crusaders.
Recently, I’ve been writing about how we’re planning to get out and about more with the kids now that I’ve finished my treatment and am starting to feel better! It was during my research of things to do that I came across The Crusaders.
Outdoor Activities for Kids!
Since 1930, The Crusaders have been running holiday camps for kids with some awesome outdoor activities like rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, and more!
I’ve been scouring their website for ideas on what we might do next as a family. Now that we’re well into spring and the weather is getting warmer, I’m excited to be able to spend more time outdoors and be more active! For the past year, I’ve spent so much of my time going between hospital appointments and recovering. I love that now I’m feeling well, I can have more fun with my little kids.
The Crusaders, a non-profit Christian youth organisation, organise activities in NSW, the ACT and WA. They’re also the largest provider of Christian holiday camps in NSW welcoming over 4000 campers each year onto over 75 camps. I’ve loved finding out more about them on their website and watching their fun videos of what is on offer for the kids.
They offer a range of CRUCamps that include fun activities and opportunities to study. Some activities from these camps that I’ve been using for inspiration include:
- Dirt biking
- Messy games
- Horse riding
- Laser skirmish
- Outdoor movies
- Paint wars
- Photo chases
- Rock climbing
- Theme parks
- Treasure hunts
- Water skiing
- Water fights
- Wide games
My kids love being outside and ‘outside’ was one of my 1.5 year old son’s first words!
My 3 year old daughter has only ever seen snow once in the UK and she’s already looking forward to going to the snow here when she’s a bit older. For me, I prefer to leave the cold behind and spend time out in the sunshine!
However, the things we do enjoy together are – having BBQs, running around outside, and playing games. I find it is the best way we bond as a family.
What are your favourite activities to spend time outside with your family?
