SodaStream Power Review & Tutorial + Free Water Tracker

Do you remember when you were a kid and really, really wanted something but your parents said no? Well one of those things for me was a SodaStream machine! So I was thrilled to do this SodaStream Power Review.

I’m sure all of my friends had one but my parents just wouldn’t get us one. They had no appreciation for the bubbly magic maker that was a SodaStream! So when I visited my friend’s houses and they had one, I was so envious. Imagine, a soda water maker that uses tap water.

As I got older I started to drink less soft drinks and more water so the eagerness for one went away until now – when I heard about the SodaStream Power Black. I’ve always spent a lot on bottled water as I don’t really like the taste of tap water but I’m trying to reduce this amount and feel the packaging is also such a waste, bearing in mind the contents are, well, water!

SodaStream Review

The SodaStream Power makes sparkling water from tap water in just seconds. I love sparkling water! I was a bit dubious though about whether a SodaStream sparkling water maker would be of benefit to me. Wouldn’t the water just taste like tap water with bubbles?

Well don’t ask me why but no, it doesn’t taste like tap water to me! I mean, I know it is but adding the sparkle and especially when it’s been chilling in the fridge, well it’s lovely. It’s a carbonated water maker miracle!

Make Different Flavoured Water!

We’ve been trying out adding a few different flavours to it as well such as pomegranate juice – yum! My favourite is just Lime and Soda though – so refreshing in the daytime and with perhaps a splash or two of vodka in the evening! The hubs loves a Sodastream Lemon Lime Bitters.

We’ve also been loving working through some of the recipes on the SodaStream website.

Since we got our Soda Stream machine we’ve used it every day, numerous times a day. It’s really helping me to stay hydrated as the weather has gotten so much hotter here recently.

Save Money!

You can buy a SodaStream Power online here in Australia, here in the US or here in the UK.

Better still, I’m no longer wasting money on bottled water and I’ve embraced tap water finally!

If you want to see the SodaStream Power in action in this SodaStream Power Demo, check out my video here:

How to Use SodaStream Power Demo

I love that SodaStream are committed to Australian Sustainability and it’s something that my family are making changes to do too. We’ve been learning so much about how we can waste less as a family and this is another great step for us.

How to use the SodaStream Power

It’s so easy to use, you simply fill up the SodaStream glass bottles with tap water, pop that in the snap lock system, choose your level of carbonation and in a few seconds, you have Soda Stream bottles of sparkling water. Easy!

You can purchase SodaStream replacement bottles and SodaStream gas bottles from Big W and Target.

SodaStream Power Review - Love from Mim

Each SodaStream co2 gas cylinder will make us 60L of sparkling water and when that’s done, we’ll swap it for a new one. The used canister is then taken back to SodaStream who clean, inspect and refill it to be reused. I just wish we’d started using one earlier. All of the SodaStream reviews I’ve read raved about it.

You can buy a SodaStream Power online here in Australia, here in the US or here in the UK.

I hope this SodaStream review was helpful – have you tried the water from one?

A soda stream maker is on my son’s Christmas wish list, as he would like soda water with a piece of lemon in it whenever he wants to.
As for us for a special Christmas treat it would be Nan’s punch; a family tradition on Christmas Day and a great way to remember my Nan. It simply contains ginger beer, lemonade and pineapple juice; with passion fruit pulp, ice and some fresh mint. Perfect for a hot day!

  31. Rachel K

Sodastream was our forbidden thing as a kid too! My mum always said we didn’t need to keep up with the neighbours and that it was gimmicky. Shows what she knew! Sodastream has become a hugely iconic brannd now in Australia, everyone I know has one or wants one.
My favourite summer drink is a very simple Sparkling water with mint leaves from my pot out the front. It’s super cheap and refreshing. It would become alot cheaper if I was producing it from Tap water though1

  39. Rosemarie De Bari

Can I start by telling you what I wouldn’t be making? My old housemate and I thought it might be funny to try and turn wine into champagne in our sodastream, and somehow ended up breaking the entire thing.

I feel I’ve learned my lesson and am now responsible enough to manage the carbonating process. For me, it’s as simple as a vodka, lime and sparkling. Perfect for summer, and pretty hard to get wrong.

  45. Kathryn

I would freeze mushed up berries in ice cube trays, so that I could pop one in a nice glass of soda water on a hot day. They would add a delicious flavour to the water.

I love ginger based drinks but find the ginger lacking in most drinks – so I would make natural ginger ale from a Chinese recipe with a bit of a carbonated buzz

Oooh a blueberry and mint infused gin and tonic would be a fabulous treat we’d get stuck into straight away.
And my children would love to make their own fizzy lemondade with fresh lemons!

Yes! When i was a kid, my neighbour had a soda stream and i was so jealous of those glass bottles of deliciousness in her fridge!

I think id like to try a tropical flavour with pineapple juice, fresh mango and passionfruit straight from our vine! <3

A powerful Christmas infusion. Sparkling water with home-grown blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. A great drink for all ages including toddlers. And a fun way also to get them into gardening helping pick and learn about the berries in their drink.

The AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI sounds so very good! Refreshing and perfect for Mum’s birthday on Australia day! We’d leave out the vodka for the kids, but Mum and I could use a little kick at our massive annual BBQ to celebrate her special day :)
